    A note to old forum members...
    I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

    Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

    Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

    If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

    If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Hello all.
I would like to coat the inside of my gas tank. I have used Kreem in the past and was not happy - difficult to tell if it coated everything.
I thought I might try the tank sealer from Eastwood. Has anyone tried this stuff?

I have never done a motorcycle tank, but I did the tank on my truck with the POR 15 tank sealer kit. Its a bit time consuming but let me tell you, it works like nothing else. I used the excess to do two 5 gallon gas cans also. I would definately recomend it.

that will do it, it coats the tank with some sort of silver lining that is hard as a rock. Kit has cleaner, prep, coating, additive for storage. Is a little pricey, but you get what you pay for. Had to get mine online.

I have done 2 tanks with a 3 part kit called "Kreem". Once dry, the stuff is like white ceramic. It's great, and a little pricey, I believe the whole kit is like $34

I did my old 1100E tank with Kreem. It didn't last as long as I thought, 8 years and it was beginning to fail. Of course, I am impatient, and that could affect the quality of my work!8-[ But when it starts flaking off, it's a bummer, so take your time and do it right.
 
POR 15 is what I used on my GS850G tank that was puting rust in the carbs. Did a nice job, but don't get it on anything or it NEVER comes off!!
 
I did my GS1100 tank with POR-15 three years ago and it still looks great. The biggest reason I went with POR-15 instead of Kreem is that the chemicals involved are much less dangerous. The Kreem kit uses Methyl Ethyl Ketone (MEK) which is nasty stuff. The POR ingredients are much nicer on skin, lungs, DNA, the environment, etc.

Don't use any liner. If the tank is rust free and not leaking don't bother. Just keep a full tank of fuel if it sits for any length of time to prevent rust.
