    A note to old forum members...
    I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

    Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

    Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

    If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

    If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Im trying to locate the rest of the parts that I need for my cafe build so I can get it out of the mock-up phase. Im having a hard time finding what I wan so maybe some of you can help me out from your experiences. Im trying to find everything at the best price possible but also not sure about quality since Ive never had experience buying any of the parts that I need.

New push/pull throttle assembly- Nice, smooth, Clean design.
Front Master- I would like the type that has the resivour mounted remotely with the little hose that connects it to the master. I have an idea to make it unique. Also, I want the levers that have the grooves for your fingers.
Brake Lever assembly- Again would like the levers to have the grooves for your fingers. I also want the mount to be aluminum. Everything on my bars are metal so i would like to continue the trend.
Braided Brake lines- I thought I remember seeing a thread about a ridiculously cheap price for a full set recently but I cant find it anymore.
Front headlight- Im looking for something with a simple black bucket and a polished ring. Clean and minimalistic.
Wiring connectors- Im rewiring the entire bike so I need all new connectors.
Front fork rebuild- Im going to rebuild the front forks and add progressive springs. I would like o kind a kit that has these included with everything else need or else piece everything together.
Rear Springs- Want to replace the rear springs but havent found anything to help me figure out which are the mos economical but also provide a good ride.

Im not asking you all to do all my work for me by any means. I have spent most of my time over the past few weeks working on my bike and doing research. Im feeling a little overwelmed with the options out there so I figure some of you have to had replaced these parts on your own bikes and could provide some insight on quality products and places to get them.
 
I shop Fleabay for the little bits like that. Brake cylinder will be the most critical part unless you have access to an end mill and someone to run it.

The rest of the stuff is more a matter of choice. I have an entire hardley (risers -bar -controls) on Yami tripples/forks and very few modifications were needed. Diameters need to be enlarged bushings spun, blah blah blah...

Have you thought of an HID system on your cafe, set inside a large 8-10" round lamp housing? ;)

Cycle Re-Cycle 2 should have everything you need. Master with remote reservoir is just doubling your work. The reservoir must be higher than the cylinder in order to flow the fluid.
I know it's a cafe but cafes should make sense once in a while!

Any idea on the electrical mess in doing HIDs? It's something I've thought about, but I've been mostly off-put by my lack of knowledge in the realm of electrical theory. I swear, this bike is going to force me to become an electrical engineer, along with a mechanical engineer, and a lubrication engineer, and a....well, you get the point. I was thinking about doing a dual lamp setup, either installed inside my 8" lamp, or using two smaller side-by-side lamps.

I know HID retrofits on cars are mostly illegal, anyone know about the legality of doing it on a bike? In Arizona?
 
Go ahead make it HID. It's simple to wire up. I have HID's in my 1969 Camaro, also in my Toyota Tacoma. They really light up the street. But.. Mind you....I don't have the goofy blue ones. I like the clear white.

Heres a place you can find OEM style crimp on connectors, and the proper tools to crimp them.
