All new forum registrations must be activated via email before you have full access to the forum.

A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Where is the VIN?

VIN is on the right side of the steering head. Has nothing to do with a key though Seat latch, gas cap should have a 3 digit code. That code is the combination a locksmith needs to cut a new key.

Found it, engraved on RH side of steering tube (very front of frame), thanks

PS it is GS750-39132
Does that make it a 750B or 750C (which I see when I check online for parts)?

Also, checking the VIN vehicle history databases, they will not accept the VIN verbatim from the bike "GS750-39132" I have also tried dropping the dash, replacing with a space, none are recognized. How would the VIN gurus state this VIN?
GS750-39132
GS750 39132
GS75039132

Those VIN databases usually only recognise the 17 ( think its 17 ) digit VINs that were standardised after 1980.

Post some pics of the bike..seat, front wheel, form each side so we can actually SEE this bike. and you can check this database also.

Note that Suzuki VINs and engine numbers never are a matched set..always refer to the VIN for year and model information.

I would say it is a 1978 GS750C. That is the correct color. If it has the choke lever on the carbs it is a 78. If the choke is a push-pull on the steering stem then it's a 79.

The ignition key placement/steering lock arrangement is always the most telling difference between 77-78 GS750. Tanks and plastics can be changed, etc, but ignition switch location difference requires too much 'modification' for a 77 to morph into a 78. So-78 it is, and a nice looking one at that!
