    A note to old forum members...
    I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

    Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

    Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

    If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

    If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

My Sunday Father's day ride in one sentence.

Beautiful day for a scoot. Sunny and warm but not hot and a nice cool breeze. Perfecto. So after a nice sleep in and a good brekkie with no chores on the list I decide to head out. Down the escarpment to Grimsby then down #8 Highway to St.Catharines and maybe to the Welland Canal and on to the Falls. Well that was the plan.

Everything fine and soul refreshing until I get to Mountain Rd. in Grimsby. I decide to continue on Ridge road as it crosses Mountain. The first 50 feet is fine then the road surface is cut and grooved in preparation for resurfacing. The bike starts to wiggle and I tense up a bit. I keep riding hoping the surface gets better and I force myself to relax but the "death grip" is hard to break. After 2 or 3 miles I'm sweating it too much so turn off at the first opportunity. Really not a problem but no fun.

I get back to Hwy # 8 and I'm heading for Beamsville. Some nice twisty bits and some up and down bits. Nothing too technical but a nice change to the straights. Tons of bikes out and the arm gets sore from the waving. Even the Harley guys and gals are into it.

As I get into St. Kitts, I'm getting a bit tired and thirsty and the GS needs a drink too. I stop to top off the tank and slide in to Timmies for lunch. Probably the worst service I ever had in a Timmies. Twenty minutes to get a Ham and Swiss with an apple juice. The day is going down a bit.

As I head out towards Welland the weather heats up a bunch and I'm starting to sweat. Stop and open up the vents on the Fieldsheer. The wind starts getting stronger and I'm getting pushed around. The wind gets gusty and with the vents open my jacket puffs up and my arms get stiff with the inflation. I must look like the Michelin Man!

After another 1/2 hour or so its getting very tiring to keep going so I turn around. Clossing the vents helps to get the arms losened up but I'm getting plenty warm. The wind is still blowing hot and gusty and the ride is starting to be a chore. I'm wandering all over the road.

I get back to the house after about 4 hours and I've got to say I was whipped. Hard work fighting the wind.

A nice jaunt but not what I was hoping for when i started out. Its all good as any time on the GS is a bonus.

With presents and steak for supper to top it offI think Its going to be a good Father's day.

I am glad you got out on fathers day for a bit of r and r. Just being able to ride would be great for me. I am sorry it wasn't a pleasure cruise you wanted, perhaps going with the wind would have helped, and hope it dies down on the return trip.

I got to spend my day with a nice breakfast, then out the door I go. I headed straight to the garage with a plan. To get my scoot out to the driveway, hook up my motion pro synchronizing tool, and get my carbs finally in sync. Was I surprised. I didn't think something could be that far off. I got them all lined up, went for a ride, felt the difference immediately. Came home, pulled the plugs, and completely black. Aaaaauuuugh!!!!! Went inside as it was starting to rain. After the rain, I pulled the bike back out, and proceeded to dial in my carbs fuel/mixture screws. Took it for another hop, and low and behold, nice and clean. She fires right up now, even when hot, which it wasn't doing before. I think I finally got her. (Thank God) and many expletives later....

So I had a very successful fathers day, waiting to go out to eat tonight, which will be a treat, as the whole family will be with me.....
 
Any Ride that You and the Bike return in One Piece from is a Blessing, Enjoy the ride. I am chomping at the bit as My wrist heals.
