DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Any ideas how to remove the muffler from this pipe? It's a mid 90's Yosimura 4-1 pipe for a GS 1150. The 3 screws on it do nothing, don't even touch the pipe.

yes they do
removing them will allow you to take the can apart but be warned it wont be easy
others here have done it and can give you more into on how to do it

They get like that when they've not been apart for while. Remove the screws and have someone grab the other end and twist and pull.

The three screws hold the canister to the collar. Reomove the screws, pull the can off, and there should be a set screw (usually) holding the collar to the midpipe. The baffle is removable, and repackable and will come off with the can.

I have an ancient Kerker 4 into 1 into 2 exhaust on it now with two 2" K Series mufflers. The whole system is straight-thru, probably 1 oz back pressure :D
I had to raise the 36mm flat slide Mikuni's needle all the way up to have good power vs the Yosh pipe with the needles mid-way.
Debating either to put the Yosh back on or leave the Kerker. Kerker has tons more torque and top end , Yosh is quiet

I ended up with a 2nd gen GSXR 1100 4:2:1 Yoshi SS pipe on my ED. I'm still running the 1150 CV's with a 145 Mikuni main jet. The 4:2:1 has much more lower end that my older 4:1 Yoshi pipes. (Ask Bill ; he knows :D)

Mine ran too lean with the needle in the middle, I would turn the throttle and felt like just air going thru the ports  I run 130 main jets, but the 2" baffles are too loud for me
