Need glove ideas for XXXXtra large hands.

I hate buying gloves! I don't have a bike shop near me or near where I usually go so I haven't tried any on in person lately. Buying online has been a major failure too, three out of the last three pairs I've gotten online (3 brands no less) have been returned or resold to other riders.

My most recent purchase was a pair of Tourmaster HDX gloves in XXL size and they were a little short in the fingers and way too small at the heel of the hand. My hands measure 4.25 to 4.5in across the palm but around 11in around the palm and 9.5in just behind the knuckles. Apparently I have meaty hands... My fingers aren't exactly long though so I don't know why these gloves seem to be short in the fingers. I've been told that I "don't have english farmhand fingers, but they'll do". I mean they aren't petite but I don't have five sausages either.

Anyone else with big hands have good luck with one brand or a specific glove? Going by the size charts hasn't helped and I don't think the XXXL version of this HDX glove could be enough bigger to really fit.

I have a pair of gloves which are too big for me, I would trade for some smaller ones.
They are really warm Winter gloves, though.

have you tried looking in big&tall catalogs for gloves? They sell extended sized everything else?!
doubt they will have specific riding gloves, but perhaps some leather driving gloves.

Otherwise I could only suggest something custom made, find out where the guys who play hockey near you go to get their gloves re-palmed. I bet that person could put together a mean armored riding style glove.

I'd say stop by the local Hardley-Ableson emporium. Lots of large-fingered folks ride hawgs, for some reason.

Anyway, back behind the vast racks of HD branded panties, Biker Blues jeans, stuffed pigs in tiny leather jackets, biker bells, crash hankies, mustache wax, "Helmet Laws Suck" helmet stickers, Genuine HD Brand Turd Polish, and "Bitch Fell Off" t-shirts will be a small, poorly lighted area devoted to actual riding gear.

Somewhere in this mess of assless chaps, pre-patched denim vests, and fingerless fringed gloves should be a few actual gloves, maybe in the clearance bin. Or at least sometimes you can try on some gloves and get an idea for how different brands fit.

Good idea and nice description! I drove past a HD shop this morning too.. should have stopped in but I just got my chaps back from the tailor, I was having the ass removed.

I looked at the general fitment guide on New Enough's site and according to their specs I should probably be okay with an XXXL so I think I'm going to swap in my latest pair with Motorcycle-superstore and get the same ones in XXXL or maybe try a different pair.

For some reason they look at me funny at the HD place when I roll up on a Suzuki in assless chaps and white linen gloves, but hey, they fit!

I've tried plenty of XXXXL gloves on but all are too small at the heel area, and some are then a little too long in the fingers. I can totally relate to it being a real pain in the ass.

I guess somewhere there's a glove manufacturer that makes their sizes bigger then others (like some others size large in their boots, jackets etc.) but I'm yet to find them either

When I find a brand or glove that fits I'll be sure to post back here. The one pair of motorcycle specific gloves I have are from AGV but they are very light. The funny thing is I've never had a problem finding normal cold weather/work/ski gloves. Maybe all the motorcycle gloves I've tried have just had much tougher construction.

Living in Wisconsin I got snowmobile gloves before riding gloves. the best I've ever owned was some leather gauntlet type gloves that had thinsulate, and fit my big mitts well, they were pretty thin and had padded palms. The first set I've ever owned with a built in windshield wiper! I don't rember who made them, and the place I bought them is out of buiesness. But think about sledding gloves.

The fingers are never, ever long enough.

Frustrating as hell, and when I ride for more than four hours, it really starts hurting my fingertips. It's like the leather pushing on the ends of my fingers pulls the nail away from the bed slightly.

No, they are not cheap, because they are well made in the USA. I've had a pair for 5 years now, they still look new.

Deer skin can be stretched to accomadate the fit of each indivdual finger.

And my hands are huge. big, round palms and sausage fingers

Have you had a look at Richa stuff? i presume they sell in the usa too. I have big hands, with long fingers and their x-large fit me like the proverbial...just a thought. They're not overly expensive either, I bought summer gloves which were about ?29 GBP so probably about $35. I'm sure if you ask about finger length and span sizes, companies will help you out.
