I see the G just gets the shaft with this crowd, no pun intended. Still my fave though.

Undressed? Not naked enough. Remove the windshield, luggage rack and crash bars and we'll talk.
1982 GS1100E V&H "SS" exhaust, APE pods, 1150 oil cooler, 140 speedo, 99.3 rear wheel HP, black engine, '83 red

2016 XL883L sigpic Two-tone blue and white. Almost 42 hp! Status: destroyed, now owned by the insurance company. The hole in my memory starts an hour before the accident and ends 24 hours after.

Dang, Rob. She's only wearing shoes, glasses and a backpack. Can't you see her curves?

Speaking of shafties, and I may be going out a bit far on the GS limb here, I always almost loved these. Something about the rake on the front end put me off aesthetically, but they seem sweet old beasts.

Yes Pilot, very nice bikes that for some reason just never caught on, only lasted 3 yrs. Few folks even know what they are.

There was something weird about the rake on both those and the VX800s, though the 800 evinced it to a greater degree.

Let's keep this thread free of any of the Vortex stuff, Trev.

As I wade into what will be a light restomod of the CB900F, I had to really give thought to aesthetics, since that bike won't ever win any kind of performance war. It can, however, perform slightly better than it did stock (with a 985 kit and a set of Mikunis; I want to keep the exhaust stock for appearance, though I may modify the baffles), while looking fabulous. A set of CB1100F wheels with modern rubber, a CB1100F swingarm, some Ohlins, a Corbin, and attention to detail in paintwork, and I plan to fall in love with it all over again.

Those old late 70's to early 80's Honda wheels just didn't look too durable, they looked like they were held together with pop rivets. I don't remember hearing of any problems, they just didn't look good.

The 1100's wheels stateside were cast. The Comstars and possibly even the reverse Comstars have a mixed record for durability.

Yep, they are nice. My wifeee had one of those at the same time I had the GS1150E, both in the same beautiful colors of blue and white. Sitting there side by side kind,f looked like father and son (or daughter).

Maybe not "one man's opinion", I think I remember another person say'in they like the "L" models, but he was too embarrassed to give his name.... Naw, just poking fun, that's why they make different models, different strikes for different folks.
