Tearing the GR650 Apart for a detail clean, paint and polish. I'm also port matching the intake ports and boots with a topical port and polish. In touch with Dime city to see what I could use for VM slider carbs. Might get the tank and side covers sent out for a professional paint job. I want it too look phenomenal for Americade next year. Also plan on upgrading the rear shock with an R6 shock. Also rebuiling the whole front braking system...
      FUN!!!

Amazing what a decent set of carb manifolds with the proper clamps verses standard hose clamps that have cut into my real good manifolds will do for quad carbs. Thanks to all members who part out quality bikes for almost extinct parts.

No snow on my deck, that's just the glare of the bright sun. And no...she doesn't seem to know about these, or maybe she does and she just doesn't play by them I'm almost tempted to keep them all here till she comes home on Saturday, actually maybe I could get the engine and wheels in by then.....

Well I worked in the house today too, unfortunately not motorcycle related. The cheap metal tube frame for our wood tote finally collapsed after about 10 years and really couldn't find anything in town that was suitable. So after 2 6ft lengths of 1/2' copper, a bag full of various elbows and a couple of hours of fun I had my own rendition. Turned out not bad even if I do say so myself. A little more polishing and ........ah, it's good enough.

Copper tarnishes very easily. Prevent tarnishing by coating it with clear laquer, several coats.

Thanks for that. I thought it was looking a little too shiny. With a little patina it'll blend right in with the rest of our 42 year old basement.

Very crafty ! Nothing better than a cracklin fire on a cold day. How far is your wood pile ? Mine is just 30ft away in the garage so I carry a couple logs in a paper bag and it goes straight in the burner. I try to minimize the mess as much as possible but inevitably there is always some crumbs to vacuum up. You have some very clean looking wood. Is that pine or cedar ?
