Looks good as well, trevor. Nice clean example of the original 1100E, the bike some claim killed the CBX project. Cheaper, better, faster. Hehe.

I did not do any yet. That said I am firing off an email to the original owner to ask if he had put in a jet kit (he had put in a K&N filter) and I had a mechanic look at it and tune the carbs. There seems to be no "flat" spots and the plugs look good. This all said I am monitoring the situation closely.Originally posted by 7981GS View PostWhat jetting changes did you do to it?

I would suspect that the fuel screws might want to be out a wee bit more and the main jets could go up a size or two.
 That should do it.
Still using the stock air-box at this point, right?

As for the title of this thread, I did put 130 miles on my new '81 1100EX today.
So far, it is getting 41.2 mpg. That will improve by next week.

Supposed to be out riding tomorrow morning but this rain is a tad ridiculous... mind you I've been able to give the rain suit a good test on the way home and it passes with flying colours 1982 GS450E - The Wee Beastie 1982 GS450E - The Wee Beastie

I escaped from working on the '80 1100EX conversion long enough to play the riding game
and then HAD to cover some more miles as I was having too much fun!
 About 50 miles today.

There fixed it for youOriginally posted by trevor View PostWashed the bike then went out for 85 (55mi) km ride. It started to snow when I was washing my bike then stopped. Then I got caught in the snow on the way home. That was effing scary!! Needless to say it was cold. Best part is my bike is dirty again.
