My beemerpunk kid had to out do me, of course, so he just bought this 15 1200GS. I took it for a spin and it is a sweet ride. Lots of gizmoes and gadgets and very smooooooov.

I don't think the newer ones are as cool as the older ones, eli. In fact, as the GS bikes go, the original 80 or 100 are the ones that really do it for me. Yours is awesome and I'd be surprised if the newer bike is more off-roadworthy.

Just tell the border guards that you're heading to Alaska... then get lost for a few days en route.

Having just refitted the Vance & Hines pipes (which I had ceramic coated in black) in order to re-install passenger foot-pegs so my girlfriend can go for rides (she loves the bike), I think tonight will be a nice night to take a long ride.

I saw in Alberta they are tracking down US plates and issuing $1.2k tickets. With good reason. When the border opens are you going to come get that blue bike?

                Out and about for lunch!

The R1200GS is a damn interesting bike to ride... Quick nimble but just too refined for my tastes. I'm glad to see you liking the R1150GS Eli! Hope to see it in the flesh one of these days...

My GS hit 50,000 miles tonight. I didn't notice until it was 25 miles over. Kinda wanted to stop and grab a pic of it at 50K. Oh well.

Rode up the Turquoise Trail to Santa Fe. Beautiful, but hot afternoon. Here's a few pics.

Looking North from just outside of Madrid toward Santa Fe. Sangre De Cristo Mountains on the horizon.

Looking South toward Tijeras. Sandia Mountains on horizon. Cattle loading chute and corral.

                    50K miles, nice!
Awesome shots of course! (you never disappoint)!

The Bonneville hit 60K or 100K KMs miles last week...

I put 30 miles on the Sporty last night, but, as I live in a rural area, there was almost nowhere to stop for photos.

                          Some faster than others.

My last three years average on the GS was only 5,500 per year. There were a few other bikes in the stable in that time though.

Oh, I do. I've lived and ridden in Arizona for 40 years. It wasn't bad out last night-about 85 degrees.

Been fighting vertigo again all week.... felt wobbly and discombobulated on two wheels but at least I got out! Not long, maybe 20 minutes but long enough... came home wrecked...

... me wrecked, not the RF.
