I took that pic from that side of the bike, from that angle, to make the road look worse than it actually was. But, yeah, I don?t worry about my bike getting dirty. I do, however, try to stay out of the slush.
same road:

Longer ride today. About 4 hours. Was barley 50 when departed. Abit over 60 upon return.
Great.
Stopped along road to watch a little creek.
Had the idea that I was watching winter melt away.
Rode into Newaygo. Beef Jerky and cream cheese dip and crackers from the jerky store, made something of a picnic on a park bench.
Stopped along the river. Was some people out in small boats.
Swing by beach to look for clouds on horizon that might efect the sunset. Still ice on pier and lake.

Definatly different than a couple weeks ago.
Snow in forecast next week.Last edited by Redman; 03-09-2021, 10:21 PM.http://webpages.charter.net/ddvrnr/GS850_1100_Emblems.jpg

I know that road very well indeed. As for barbecue, you missed out: You should have gone to Jalapeno Buck's. Nestled right in an orange grove, amazing barbecue and Tex-Mex.Having just returned from a trip to Arizona, Utah and Colorado, I can now show some pics of the beautiful scenery I got to ride through. Too bad I am not good with photos but this might help to prove I really was there.

And this is the reason I went to Arizona. I don't like snow after I have see more than a inch of it.

Should hit 50'F today, it was 19'F on my ride in this morning, god I miss doing this everyday!

Yesterday the FZ6 passed State inspection with flying colors. The $1500 Commuter is running superbly and is fit as a fiddle and ready to fly for the season.

More snow is moving in this weekend and we might slip back into the winter time suck. At least I'll get a few solid days of riding!Comment

Had a close call with a State Trooper, the other day, was merely getting off the freeway exit going the same speed I was going on the freeway 70 in a 60mph zone,
everybody else was going this speed too.
I saw a Stater facing south in the median while I was heading north. There was a cable meridian barrier (swiss cheese grater) blocking I thought, his ability to head
north. Right as I was exiting, a red older Honda Accord (you know lowered w/4" exhaust can) was merging on from an earlier onramp at high rate of speed, at least
80mph, but no, this cop wants to follow me instead. As I approached the stop sign, I looked left, then noticed a trooper in my rearview approaching rapidly, right as
I rolled thru the stop sign without coming to a complete stop-great/whoops! Where did he/she come from? They're good at that for some reason.
I pretended not to notice who was behind me & slowly "toured" thru 2 roundabouts, knowing full well who was. They gave up the pursuit on the 2nd roundabout, as
I chain slapped my way at 25 mph home. 1150's don't like going 25 much. Whew.GS\'s since 1982: 55OMZ, 550ES, 750ET, (2) 1100ET\'s, 1100S, 1150ES. Current ride is an 83 Katana. Wifes bike is an 84 GS 1150ESComment

With temperatures in the 70' there was no way I was going to work! I had a plan last night to go to Cleveland for lunch. Well the ride to Cleveland is kind of boring straight roads, north south, east west. I decided to go to Pittsburgh for lunch. Much better roads, hills and turns. I went to the Strip District in Pittsburgh. I went to Primanti Bros. for lunch. That's the place that puts Coleslaw and French Fries right on the Sandwiche! The sandwich in the picture is a "Pittsburgh Rubin" it's a Yinzer thing is what they tell me. A Yinzer is a native Pittsburgh folk.
Today I let the Tiger stretch its legs a little bit. I did the proverbial "Ton" a couple of times. I hit the 550 mile mark today. I'm just wrapping up its first oil change. Castrol Full Synthetic. 👍Attached FilesMy Motorcycles:
