          First day of Spring.
          Just 40degF and 15mph wind.

Got bikes out for garage spring cleaning.
          Did air up tires.
          Did start the GK.

But I had been out in cold last night and a couple other times in recent days, and just didnt feel like it today (which kinda puzzles me).
Should be able to find a 45-50 deg day for a March ride.

Still about 15cm of snow and icy roads here. But I have high hopes for the near future. After all it is officially Spring!

Handy. Dirt riding and cleaning at the same time.

Yesterday's 40 degF felt cold, maybe cuz was windy.

                  Today 46degF today and calm.
                  Did go for ride.
All suited up, out for over an hour, and didnt get anywhere close to cold.

Went into town and Stopped by beach, just cuz this time of year can get in the campground close to the pier, and is not at all crowded.
THen went for ride out of town.

By time got home it was near 50degF

20230326_153339~2.jpg With the warmer weather yesterday(50° up to 62°), I was finally able to go for longer ride. About 225 miles.

When I got home I noticed that my shoulders and neck were a little achy. I think that will go away the more I ride.
I hope so, because I'm going on a 6-7,000 mile ride in May! Ending at the Brown County Rally then home.

Because he wouldn't sell me his high-miler at a deep discount? Maybe.

More to do with the rave reviews that the bike is getting though, plus a personal rave review from my friend John in Australia (who is the current owner of my old '82 Katana 1100). There was also the constant prodding from my mid-life body which just couldn't take any length of time leaning over the bars of a sport(ish)bike anymore... the battle between my teen-brain screaming "HAYABUSA!!!!" and my neck and back muscles just screaming was an epic one. I guess I'm finally mature enough to tell my brain to grow up. Just don't tell that to the Hayabusa that survived the weekend's garage purge.

Ha! That day I was... it was just an excuse to ride the orange 'Busa and who doesn't like looking at pretty classic-style motorcycles? It did reinforce the fact that despite the top-box and touring screen I'd just installed on the bike, I wasn't going to be able to actually ride anywhere distant on the thing... growing old isn't for the faint of heart. Or back. I'd been making excuses to not ride over the past number of years but the truth is that I just didn't have the right bike to comfortably pile miles on... the new Katana was ergo-friendly enough but its tiny fuel tank limited its use, and the other bikes just wrecked my body before I could actually get anywhere.

Now I'm going for a ride. The sun is shining, I booked the day off of work and I installed new heated grips on the GT last night that I need to test out.

Added 300kms to the 47 that was on the odometer this morning. This is such a great bike.
