Hah, yes I definitely don't worry about my license plate # on display. My Social Security # is 5318008. But you have to turn your computer screen upside-down to read it properly.

        Rained hard overnight.
THinking of a morning ride, Looking at weather radar it seemed to me that next batch of rain was gonna pass by to the north.
        So, head on out,
out and around and for some errands and, you know, maybe stopping at a coffee shop and, um, maybe also record store that has a coffeeshop.

Ride around, lots of puddles around yet. Roads mostly dry other than remaining puddles.
Ride into town , did my errands, and rode down by beach.
Saw the big puddle in resteraunt parking lot, so swung in for photo. After stepping off and walking around, had to wait a while for ripples to subside.

(Good thing I had greased up my boots recently.)
        .
THen ride downtown, park downtown (they have mocycle specific spots at end of most blocks - nice)
        ... and visit a coffee shop . . . . and it starts raining - hard.
And is still raining, more, so get refill.
        ANd it rains more.

Oh, did I close visor on helmet (hanging face up on foot peg)?

Nope. Helmet had turned into something of a rain guage.
I poored the water out. And rode home in a light rain.

Helmet drying method: put helmet on electric heating pad, on medium, over night. THat did it quite well (but not really heat up helmet).

I've been riding to work these past few weeks. Yesterday was a bit much on the way home: 116. Today was only 109. Believe it or not, you can feel the difference.

You take that bike into the dirt there?

LOL... Ummm... in 1996 I rode from Mesa, to Globe to Roosevelt.... to Tortilla flat.

It still makes my top 10 stupid things I've done list. Also on that list is taking my then 21 year old fiance' on that same ride. We ended the relationship a couple years later.

They've been doing major work on that road. Rumor has it (according to friends with adventure bikes) that it's now paved from Apache lake to roosevelt, and it won't be that long until it's paved the whole way.

I haven't ridden it for a couple of years, but last time I was there, it was dirt not far beyond the last building.

I took a ride up the freeway to the Huntington Beach Vintage Bike Meet today. It's a small meet but always brings a nice variety of bikes. A special treat was seeing a Laverda there today. A tricked-out CNW (Colorado Norton Works) '74 850 Commando got 1st (oops no pics, but bling-city, no expense spared with every CNW option, E-start, belt drive, and on and on), followed by a '71 Honda 750, then in 3rd, a GS (not mine, a BMW). Pic of my GS cut off, oops. It got a lot of interest. A great group of people.

Laverda, Kawasaki and Suzuki - that is some impressive orange machinery!

I know you like Nortons Rob so here is a pic of the winner. It's got all the goodies, belt drive, electric start by CNW, Brembos, fatter fork tubes and reworked internals, redesigned Isolastics and on and on. No expense spared. I think the Norton script is a bit too small, but other than that not much to quibble about. But I will. I'd have gone black with the frame, and that seat? Probably a comfy perch but nah. Oh and give me chrome fenders too please. Other than that, perfect. Hah!

Agree that Norton is very cool, but I would feel a little more macho pulling up next to it on your red twin. "Electric start? That's for sissies!"

And the CBX practically disappears into the background next to that turbo Z!
