Got out the '78 GS750E today and rode it one last time! This is the one that started it all for me.

Sold it for the second time, since I originally bought it, this afternoon to a nice young guy from Columbus, Indiana. (and NO, I'm NOT buying it back again!)

Oddly enough, his last name was Suzuki! Must have been meant to be!

I mentioned it to him, but he has only been in the states for 3 months, (working at Toyota), and has a very limited use of the English language, so I doubt he will show up in Bedford!

Here is the original thread when I bought it last year, if you didn't see it: https://www.thegsresources.com/_foru...r-400-thoughts

I've got about 3000 miles on it now, and still love it. I tell people it's the perfect old geezer bike. Fast enough, handles good enough, and light enough I can pick it up if I have to.
The seat isn't the best, but Triumph makes a "comfort" seat I'll probably end up getting. I put on a windshield, adjustable levers, tidy tail, phone mount, and upped the front sprocket.

This not a touring bike...At least not like my old Trophy or K1100RS. The gearing is low, even with an extra tooth on the front sprocket, I'll probably drop the rear 2 or 3 teeth.
I rarely ride more than 2-3 hours before my arthritis kicks in, so that's not an issue.

I'll be putting my TT600 up for sale after BC. It's just as light as the Speed, and has more than double the HP, but the last time I rode it my whole body ached.
Guess I am done with sport bikes.

Thanks Bob. Able to pick it up after it falls, or stop it before it hits the ground is a biggie. That's near or under 400lb for me.
Low price too for a new bike.
You must find Triumphs reliable, or you wouldn't have bought another.

370-380 or so wet. This is my third Triumph. I find them made extremely well.
Or course being made in India gave me some worries. But I found out Triumph doesn't build any bikes in England any more.
Any way, so far, so good.

Managed 7-20 minute sessions @ Ridge. About 5-6 crashes & 3 red flags, but no ambulance rides.
Cold day for June, with temps not even getting into the 60's. 1 blown crossplane R1, 2 holes thru the cases.

A short ride yesterday to pickup Macgyver repair parts for a coolant leak in my vanagon.

Rode about 20 miles to Justin RedmanSons about 1pm.
THen we rode about 60 miles to intercept Jay RedmanSIL who was returning from weekend duty.
THen we three continued along on Justins route planning route (Google Adventure mostly he said.)
Around the GunLake and Yankee Springs area before heading to GRand Rapids area to get Jay home.
They cooperated for roadside-selfies. Was mid 80sDegF all afternoon.
Eventually getting Jay back home. THen me home about 630, and Justin continued along to home.

I had about 190 miles. And am tired.
Was good to have an adventure with them.

SOme of you have meet Justin a few times and Jay a couple times at Brown County rallys.

Oil get on the track from the blown engine? Just wondering how the track crew dealt with it.

I've been recovering from hernia surgery, not going on track again until after July 4th.
