Blanket based on the most expensive to insure...the Busa of course.
    One million liability
    Full collision

    Fire and theft
    $500 deductible
And my 23 year old son added to all 5 bikes (He has 3 years riding experience)
$920cdn or $660us for one year

Best or worst part is that I can add as many bikes (collector approved) to the policy for only an additional $2 a year per bike

So I finally turned 10 yesterday (two nickels equals 10 right?) and spent the day on the bike riding out to surprise the grandkids before they came out to our place. On the way back I stopped at this covered bridge that I rode by going out there due to time constraints and a really strong wind across the prairie.

I apologize for the picture quality as I didn't realize I had my ISO set so high until I processed them tonight

Look at the cloud formation at the rear; I'm not quite sure what exactly it is but it looked a little menacing in a way.

A couple of weeks ago ...

Me on the 750 ready for the 'track cruise' this year's Motofest at Hampton Downs Raceway. I parked over the side until most of the pack had gone past. From last year, I learned that if you were at the back of the pack you got to carve up a crap ton of bikes in the 3 laps. Testosterone kicks in and it gets competitive. Passed a couple of Ducatis on the outside and the inside (they weren't happy). Redlined up the box in the straights, out braked a few punters. After, I parked next to a guy who had hit 190 (120mph) on his Busa. The cruise limit behind the pace car is supposed to be 100 (60 mph). We giggled like drains about the whole thing.

Some interesting bikes at the event

Sure did! Andrew Stroud did a few 'parade' laps along with aTZ750, Simon Crafars' British GP winning YZR500, and some mad British 800cc Rotary, amongst others. After the left hander in the photo is straight.

We did our annual dual sport ride up island to Port Renfrew...it's been a great tradition that seems to grow...lol
We were 14 this year with 7 of us riding dirt...left Friday came back Sunday.
Saturday was rainy but Friday up was beautiful.
The cabins we stay at have hot tubs and saunas.
These guys are all the members of our Friday afternoon safety meeting group. Youngest at 58 and a few guys in their 70s

After getting caught in the rain last week. I spent Sunday morning washing my motorcycle. Then took it out for a Sunday afternoon cruise. With the late afternoon sun shining, I thought I'd take a couple of pictures.

Got GK out this afternoon. First start up of the season. Lot of oil smoke - muzzle fruzzle frizzle ratts.

                          Went on a ride.

About 5 miles from home, across the draw bridge, other side of the next town....
                          Cruising along, singing a song.
Thinking how much I like this bike. It just fits me. I like the way it handles.

THen it just cuts out abruptly. And I coast to side of road, and turn into first parking lot.
Not a single light on, not even the oil pressure light. Dark.

Hum, think I'll get out my tool pouch to unscrew the fuseblock cover.
Opps, somehow dont have my tool pouch in side bag. Huh? How did that happen?
So use jacknife to unscrew fuse block cover.
Yep, main fuse blown wide open. But no tool pouch means I have no extra fuses. (THere is a spare 10 in the fuseblock cover, but no 15.)

Right then two guys walk out of nearby auto tire& repair shop right there and ask if I need help. Both are mechanics that work there, both have mo'cykles. They get me a 15amp fuse.
I put it in and it doesnt blow, so I know the problem isnt the R/R.
SO I unplug the horns and turn off the aux driving lights, before I turn on key.
then turn on key, HAve lights and it starts.

SO I continue on my ride.
Happy that am so familiar with the Suzuki GS from the 43 years of experience.
(anything at all happens with the BMW RT, I'll be calling a tow truck).

On way back, I stopp at an auto parts store and a bakery. THEn stop back at that shop, and repay the fuse and give them a pack of bakery cookies.

                          Made it home OKAY.
Have some more troubleshooting to do

Know what "Road Closed Ahead" means?

                            It means about no traffic.

So I got to see this interesting old "camel back bridge" from the 1920s.
Typically is no place to stop, and lot of fast traffic - but not now.

What is the name of the guy that was in southern California canyons, that moved to Hurricane Utah? He posted pics of his bike parked in middle of the road with sidestand on yellow line. I will admitt to copying that idea.

                            >>Later Note: Its the next bridge that is being replaced. THe newer one, not this one from 1924.

It typically means there's a huge opportunity to do some air time.
