Gear Oil Preference?
Hello. I have a 1979 GS850G. I'm curious what brand SAE90 gear oil do you guys prefer? I'm in the states.

Synthetic is fine. Straight 90w, 85w-90, 80w-90, whatever you can find.
I tend to change it every tire change, since access is easier.
If you have the rear wheel off, don't forget to also lube the splines with MOLY paste.

Thanks Steve. I found a 75W-90 synthetic. Sounds like that'll do the job.
And thanks for the MOLY Paste tip

I'm using a synthetic 75w / 90 - was like water when I poured it in. I can honestly say I think I felt a difference.
I change mine every 50,000 miles or blue moon, whichever falls sooner.Dave
