I haven't tried any brake mods yet, but having to ride modern sport bikes at work and being able to practically do a stoppie with two fingers and then getting on these old bikes and have to grab a whole hand full and wished I had more, makes me want to think harder about it. If you talk to the PO again, could you ask what the discs and calipers came off of? They look like aftermarket rotors, maybe EBC.Originally posted by maicojoe View Post:cool:GSRick

that whole front end is done, not just the brakes...edit: I see it is an 1150 front end, didn't realize how beefy they look! .nice score!Last edited by greg78gs750; 05-29-2018, 04:24 PM.1983 GS 1100 ESD :D

I think he used a GS1150 front end. The GS1150's do have a clip-on bracket with a straight tube bar. The GS1150 has a taller rise than the GS1150ES. I'm not seeing the picture.1983 GS1100E, 1983 CB1100F, 1991 GSX1100G, 1996 Kaw. ZL600 Eliminator, 1999 Bandit 1200S, 2005 Bandit 1200S, 2000 Kaw. ZRX 1100

All the GS1150's I have seen have clip-ons either low or high?
This looks different?

Definitely an 1150 front end. Looks like aftermarket handlebar mounts were somehow added to the top clamp.sigpic
When consulting the magic 8 ball for advice, one must first ask it "will your answers be accurate?"
