    BOTM for March 2026

Another good looking example of a GS 850. Has been nicely put together from the boxes of parts.

Yes, Ron Saltsman 1978GS750E does a great job on his restorations. And he evidently keeps a tidy workshop. Don't know which I'm more jealous of.

      Nice!

And yep, I've seen a few of Ron's restorations up close and he does not cut corners.

      Very nice!

Yah, Ron, I recall that last fall sometime you said something about "there must be a GS somewhere that needs to be rescued".
          And, Yes, you did.

          Impressive.

Yeah Dave, I had to have Diablo Cycle make me a set of decals for this bike as they were not available in those colors. They only had the ones for a red bike.

This bike had a windjammer fairing and a set of K&E Engineering saddlebags on it when I got it. I paid $200 for the bike because the PO had the engine apart to fix an oil leak and couldn't get it back together. Turns out the "oil leak" was from the added oil cooler and not the engine at all!

It turned out to be a nice bike, but it's just not a good fit for my riding style. That's why it's for sale!

Why the heck is your garage so tidy? How do you do that?

That pic is with the bike parked where my truck is normally parked. You should see the side of the garage that I work in! It's not so tidy!
