That's a different host ain't it? Wonder where the other guy went.
Nice breakdown of the 850's evolution.
Shaft tax. Ha! It's such a smooth running all around great machine that I seldom think about the drawbacks.
    I love my 850.

Was that purple a factory color? Maybe CA only?

I had an 850 for several years. I mostly used it to go to work. Often with a box of tools or two strapped on the back. It was perfect. I sold it eventually to a young guy for cheap. It was his first bike. He seemed very happy

One shot showed it still has the original rear brake line!

I have a hard time believing the shaft drive power losses are as large as were claimed in this video. Isn't the original host a trained engineer?

That's just some funky color filter applied to the thumbnail. Bike in the video is more of a solid blue color. Also has black sidecovers, and some other aftermarket details like turn signals, seat cover, etc. I suspect a repaint

I've heard 20% losses for a shafty overall from multiple sources, so I could be convinced. This video's claim - that each gear in the shaft driveline causes a 15-20% loss in and of itself - is less believable.

I'd buy something like 10... *maybe* 15%. What's a stick shift car typically lose on the dyno vs crank power? I'd think it'd be no more than that for a bike.

                        Manual car loses about 15%.

                          It's a load of nonsense.

Even so, it's nice to see some love for the platform from a popular channel.
