What's that little meter in the name box?

OK, I give up -- I can't work out what that little "meter" is in the name box.

For example, to the left there you'll see my avatar, my username, "bwringer", then "Forum Long Timer", then a little meter.

Two of my squares are orange at the moment, and I can't work out why. And why do some people have more or fewer orange squares?

Are orange squares even a desirable thing? Do I want more squares?

    Whatever could they mean?

I asked this the other day. I think it was Bob that pointed out that if you mouse over the colored bar (As far as I know this doesn’t work on a touch device like phone or tablet) a seemingly random, goofy, saying about the user appears. Kind of silly, really. Not sure what the different levels mean, buy the saying does change as the bars increase. Have only seen orange, no other colors.

It appears the # of orange bars mean nothing, I've read some of those little messages...Seems kind'f like a computerized fortune cookie.

I was under the possibly mistaken impression that it's a reference to how active the user is. More posts, more bars colored in. Likes received may also increase the coloring. This is just a guess though...

Huh, now I've got four orange squares. I haven't been here since this morning.

Glad I'm not the only one feeling mystified.

It's not important at all. Just wondering. I'd much rather have signatures back, because they're very useful for figuring out what the heck sort of bike people are discussing.

Thanks! I found the setting after a bit of poking around. Never even thought to look for a setting.
