If I had to guess, I'd say the uptick in traffic is due to spring being here and loads more people researching what the heck is a GS and how do they fix the one they bought off craigslist?

Frank, if you're reading this, I have over a decade cPanel and sysadmin experience and would be happy to help out if time or hosting resources are an issue.

It appears to be an internal setting controlling the number of active threads or sessions. The fact you can connect to the server says it's not a connectivity issue. I don't know if this site is hosted on a dedicated server or sharing space with 20-100 other web sites.

I don't see any patterns - I have receive the message during weekdays and weekends in the early morning, afternoon and evening.

Guest and user counts have been much higher in the past but has never effected the stability of the site. Something else is going on.

Everything I've read says that this is a common problem with vBulletin. Here's a thread with a solution:

                            1980 GS1000GT (Daily rider with a 1983 1100G engine)
1998 Honda ST1100 (Daily long distance rider)
1982 GS850GLZ (Daily rider when the weather is crap)

Darn, with so many daily riders it's hard to decide which one to jump on next.

Yeah I guess the site being down to take care of issues didn't fix it because I just got the "server is too busy" message again.
