Yep I'm still getting it, it seems to happen more often later at night oddly enough. No matter, there are usually 500 other things I can be doing at any time (even 1 in the morning lol) so I just do other stuff when it happens. Frank'll get round to fixing it. Remember folks he's 'of a certain age', he don't move like he used to .

If the server is at the end of a rural party line in deepest darkest Potatoville, I can understand the bottleneck problem.

I'm not sure if it's gotten better or worse in the past week, but it's pretty bad.

Then my damn stack is mostly needles then! More like finding hay. I was on here twice tonight during work, Lunch at 10pm and the 15 minute break at 11:45 pm each time I got the same prompt... after hitting refresh 15 times I got on!

If it's any help to the unseen persons working on this thankless task, from my side it only happens about one visit in five and always immediately after logging in.

so the server is too busy and you keep hitting refresh in the false belief that it will solve the problem?

15 Time was an exaggeration. I'll hit it a couple times in a few minutes and I usually connect pretty quickly. It seems to me there is a limit of users allowed on at a time. So in hopes there is a "spot open" I hit refresh so I can nab it and read posts.

Just thinking out loud, I wonder if my habit of searching the keywords 'JEEPRUSTY' and 'drama queen' and then hitting 'refresh' every 6 seconds all day long could be affecting server performance?

                            Frank......?

                            Frank,

Would I be correct, in that "Server Too Busy" does not necessarily mean "GSR too busy".....?

Maybe the "server" also handles other websites/forums also, and as such, could be too much activity on multiple other things...or maybe not specifically the computer that is the server, but the switch/hub/routers or other with the service provider....?

When it happens to me, I just go to some of the other things I do online for a while and come back in a few minutes, or not. SOmetimes good then, sometimes not.

                            Anyway, .... Frank, Any comment?

the greater the complexity of the search string the greater the load.
I wonder if the curmudgeons constant whining about folks not using the search function is the root of the problem.
                                I don't really wonder.........not at all.
