Got to admit, With tubeless the stem will never separate from the tube... We'll not mention leaking around or coming loose from the wheel. Hate it for Marv, just glad it wasn't any worse.

I have tubeless on my 83' GS750ES,which I like best.
I have tube-type on the factory aluminum wheels on my 81' GS450EX,and carrying a spare 18" tube & a pr. of small Motion Pro tire levers is a good idea(the same 18" tube will work on front or rear),even though I haven't had a tube go bad on me yet.. there's always a first time.
I know it's better to do it,rather than taking a chance;I just need to Do it.

I cut a tire and tube, on a Sunday afternoon, on an 18" tube type, yrs. ago. A buddy riding with us had a 19" tube in his trunk. We wadded the 19" tube in that 18" tire and made it appx. 100 mi. home. If I'd had a tubeless a plug nor sealer would have not helped, but we still could have put the tube in the tubeless tire and made it home.

As I see it, the problem with tubes is, they tend to get re-used after a cursory inspection (or none at all) when the tyre is replaced.
With tubeless, you get a new seal every time.

Tube replaced, went on a 100 mile ride today, all is right with the world............................

I was that guy on a ride with Sandy and his brother. Haulin about 65/70 felt a bump/shudder then nothing. Aired up at the next gas stop, was down to 15 in the rear, 70 miles to go and hit the road. 30 or so miles later looking for a service station of any kind…rear starting to get squirly. Aired up…5lbs in the tire, 20 miles left…made it to the destination and Sandy his brother and I spent the next day fixing the old girl. Blew the tube with a split 12” long. Now run tubeless, she is an 80 and came with tubes.
