Saw the Outlaws in the summer of '75 in Central Park. They opened for Jefferson Starship. Scott Muny was on radio all day touting the "Jefferson Airplane tenth anniversary" celebration, but without Jack and Jorma it ain't Airplane.

Outlaws were great, closed with "Green Grass and High Tides."

Damn. It’s been a while since a song gave me chills... thanks.

They did a fantastic job of that song; I wonder how they did it - did they each sing the entire song and then splice it or did each have their own parts?

Sharing because, well, why not? I still play Bari Sax a few times a year. Some of you of a certain age will remember Bob Hope and also that he had a band led by Les Brown (and the Band of Renown). Les is from my hometown (same school district anyway).

Every year my HS puts on a Les Brown Weekend including a dance, movie retrospective, and this concert that features HS and college and some professional jazz, swing, and big band acts. I play in the Town of Renown made up mostly of alumni with a few ringers thrown in. The music is easy (a good thing) and fun to play. As the years go on, it seems the appreciation of this type of music diminishes. Sad, really. But, I'll do it for as long as I’m able. The guy on trombone behind me was my elementary school instrumental music teacher, now retired, who organizes this whole weekend every year. I’m the big Bari Sax, front row screen right.

While we were out today, I saw a older Dodge Dakota R/T pickup. It had a somewhat loud exhaust hinting at the possibility of a lumpy cam.... music in itself. But The Last In Line by Dio cranking from the radio was even better. It set the musical mood for the day. https://youtu.be/YTbRsGRWZW0

Apparently G Love, who I only discovered last year, is at it again. The new album is a bunch of collaborations with hip hop, old school rappers, and bluesmen.
                            I particularly liked this one.
