Yes, In a way you are correct.
In fact, most real photo contest dont allow any comment or descriptions , other than maybe a title.

WHen I said I will remove my comments, I was jokeing, in two ways:
- acting like I was concerned about being disqualified.
- removing my comment, but yet leaving my comment appear in the quote.

Over the years here I have come to understand this game is partly photo contest and partly story and photo sharing. Yes, entries made based on the topic/subject of the week.

But some votes might be for the photographic merits and how well it meets the theme/topic,
and some votes might be for intersting interpetation of the topic/theme...
... and some picture, say, bad cluttered picture of the entire gas station parking lot and awning, poorly exposed, with bike on other side of a pump and trash cans might get votes cuz reminds the voter of thier first bike or becuase they always wanted a header pipe like the one can barley see in the picture.
... and some fairly ordinary picture, say, bike in a driveway, the poster might share some signifant occurance in thier life shortly after they took that picture, and maybe they get votes, or maybe they get some comraderie.

Anyway, it comes down to what criteria the voter uses.
I have come to enjoy the photos and the stories. (ALthough I choose to vote based on the photo per the topic/subject.)

Just glad a friendly contest where we can do about whatever we want and poke fun at and for whatever we want and everybody is good, even the goose egg guys. Hope nobody ever takes me serious, I don't know how to play that way.

I think the more explanation of a picture the marrier...

Plus, if this was a "real photo contest" Bob, Dave, Rich, Roger, and Dorkburger would win every week!

Like on the ADV forum. Some one will post a beautiful sunset picture, but doesn't tell you where it was taken. Kind of a useless picture to the viewer. In my opinion.
I want to imagine being there or plan on going there.

And I agree with everything you said, more info makes pictures even more interesting... Please never take me serious, I've never deserved that much respect and hope I never do.
