I seriously have the intention of building a mailbox like that one day. Thought about it with my donor bike, but it's an ugly L, lol... Someday...

Happy Friday one and all. Time to vote.
First, the confusing theme of the week:

It's a toss-up between the mailbox and the sign post but I'll go with Baatfam's picture this week.

Hadn't quite got the scale right until i noticed the massive, spot-light trees in the background.

My vote is for Redman. Love the way he framed it, so the sculpture is a reflection of his bike, in color and shape.

This wide-net theme allows a lot of creative latitude - well done Baatfam. Because of the humour (I think), the pic of the row of beautifully restored (useless to non bike people) antiques in the living room has my vote. Steve Murdoch for the win.

Baatfam, for me, have been trying to think of a way to turn an engine into a mailbox without success yet.

Just trying to get my first photo posted since Photobucket melted down...

Didn't see how to resize, so we will see.

That is a cheap Wal Mart Schwinn with aluminum frame which has been updated with XT hubs, Mavic wheels, alloy stem, seat post, and bars, billet steel and alloy pedals, Truvative crankset and SRAM twist grip 9 speed. 100 psi tires and quality hubs make it roll fast. upgraded brakes are at least high enough quality that the springs hold their temper and remain in adjustment. The originals don't. I've assembled five of these, three men's and two women's, and enjoy sourcing and repairing the parts. My wheel truing isn't perfect. Haven't quite learned to make them both round AND straight. They are fun to ride on the bike paths and in the city. Way faster than it was stock, with 40 psi tires, and much lower quality rolling components. They end up not being very inexpensive. Components end up costing around $400 to $500 used, maybe more. I've got one more ready to assemble. Probably go back through and replace all the headsets with better quality finished ones like Tange. This one has a nice light spring seat off of some German commuter bike. Decent halfway light cruiser seats are hard to find.
