Bob, the difference would be that the winner/theme poster would actually include the post number in the text of the post, as in #1234, that would make it easy to find by clicking on "Search this thread" at the top.

Otherwise trying to work your way to a particular post # in a long thread can sometimes be a tedious bracketing exercise.

        Yup...I hear ya, Don...might work.

Too bad we don't have space for a small gallery, where can upload our entries, and highlight the winning photo each week.
Kind of like the "Bike of the Month," except we show the theme, entries and winner each week.
Could even do the voting there....forum wide, if we wanted.

Parking lot near the summit of White Face Mt. About 4500'. Not so much fog as being in the clouds.

I think this was the day I took the long way home from an event in Charleston WV. Loved the clouds in the hills here.

Early morning fog over a channel of the river this April.

High water level such that cant see the peninsula where the row of trees is.

Usually can see across the river to the other side. THis pic is same place, a couple days prior, about same time of morning.

This is at a rest stop just west of Rapid City, SD taken in September 2014. As you can see there were very few other fools on the road. I was trying to get to a GS gathering at Sandy's and the only route was to punch through an early winter storm. It look doable on the weather map but it really wasn't. One of my most miserable rides ever--mountains, fog, cold, rain/snow, darkness, numbness, pain and fear. I finally made it into Billings and after waiting three days for the weather to break, gave up and headed back to Florida. Had I been a man of even mediocre judgement I would have stayed right in that rest stop.

Some sort of fog, haze, smoke, shot through a cheese cloth or whatever you feel gives that sort of impression.

                        Happy Friday gents.
To my eye, Burque's, Trevor's, and Redman's shots are standouts. Really a close call for me. I was leaning toward Trevor's pic... until Redman posted his entry, which gets my vote. Its one of those images that can be interpreted as a haunting image or one of serenity depending on the viewers mood... I can picture myself sitting at that boat launch in the fog drinking a morning coffee and enjoying the peace of the moment. Dave, I consider that a frameworthy image. Beautiful, moody, and simple.

                                Several great photos this week.
But, I was fairly certain when it went up, that I was voting for Redman's (Dave's) photo.
                                So much goodness.

The balance between the spindly trees and the bike.
The reflection of the trees in the water.
                                The detail in the foreground.
                                The almost B&W look.

I could quibble that maybe...maybe...just maybe, if the bike was angled into the photo, instead of out...maybe slightly better...

                                But man...I like that photo....

Let me add, that there is a part of me that knows I would never park like that, at least without help nearby.
Because one way or another, me or the bike, or both, are falling in the water...LOL....

And, let me thank Roger for the excellent, wide open theme this week...
Exactly what I enjoy, flexible and open to interpretation, so we can focus on the photo.
Way more fun than typical tags like, "Your bike with a watermelon."
