I'll happily concede to Grimly and his manifold.

What have you got for us this week Grimly?

Indeed, this is true....I rarely vote, but I have my reasons...

I wasn't expecting that... caught me on the hop.

How about the subject, " I wasn't expecting that!"

Here's one to kick off, I was reminded of last night.

#1, my battery died. Would not keep my bike going. It was a hot sunny day and I parked in a shady spot.
#2, I called a battery place and found one that would deliver.
#3, when the delivery arrived, for what ever reason it was the wrong battery: right voltage and such, but the terminals were switched and the battery physically stuck out the side of the bike. I jerryrigged it on the fly, and then did a better jerryrig when I got home, because it did fit backwards.

Wow! That tube really came apart. It didn't leak, it came apart. That was a defective tube. IMHO

gustovh, how bout what happened here. Never heard of a tube blowing out inside a tire. Assuming flat tire then kept going till tube came apart???

I didnt expect to be laid out in the road , but that is not my point....

Got going up to speed and then all sorts of stuff started happening, all sorts of sounds and jerking around... my last recollection was thinking maybe I left the sidestand down and was heading off the edge of the pavement towards ditch and trees, feeling something of a big jolt on my rear end, and seeing the pavement coming up to my face real fast, and feeling/hearing a large bash on shoulder and side and everywhere. . . . . . . . next thing I am aware of (dont know after how long) was I was staggering around (dont recall getting up) looking around expecting that bike was in the trees somewhere....
.. didn't expect to see it in the road,.....
..... didn't expect to see it undamaged.

Can see end of sidestand scratch there before going off the road. That is where I got myself thrown down.

How the bike went thru the ditch and back onto the road without any damage, I dont know.
Did have mudd and grass and weeds jammed in many various places. The ditch was soft and wett from recent heavy rains.

I was more damaged than the bike (but I didnt fully realize that till about half way back to the motel).

                              More details in 2019BrownCounty posting.

The first time I opened up these carbs, I wasn't expecting to see this float post glued together. Been like that for 30K miles though, so not messing with it.
