Dorkburger has my vote this week.
I have a similar story as we scattered the ashes of my Father in a lake up north.
When he retired in '85 we bought him a canoe and we used it that day.
    I inherited our "family jewel".
A tiny bit of GS content.

          Interesting story and sentiment.

I would say this could qualify as a submission, has your bike in it, and the subject-theme-topic this week is just as observable as most of the other submissions. (meaning not at all observable).
Just that have missed a few voters already.

While they are almost too close to choose just one, I'm going to have to go with Burque's over Downs'...

Steve, I remember you posting that shot with the tanks awhile ago, but I can't recall the context, something about supporting the tanks while painting.

              Thanks for sharing.
Good that it was a creek with running water (as shown in your "context" photo).
I mention such to folks if I hear they are looking for a place, as the experience my brothers and I had with our mothers ashes at the side of a still pond was ... well, I dont want to try to describe it all.

The stories are great, the pictures certainly help punctuate them. As requested, they all seem to have significance, whether "spiritual" or not. Some of the pictures are simply good pictures, the context is what makes them appropriate for this week's entry.

All that said, I'm going with Downs this week.

Roger, if you ever start a "bike on its side" theme, I'll just claim it right now.

Great turnout for voting this week. It was hard to choose between what the pic symbolizes and the pic itself.

                      Tally for the week is:

                      Downs-6
                      Dorkburger-3
                      Redman-2
                      Mine-2
                      Trevor-1

                      14 votes in all.

Way to go Downs! You get the honor of choosing the next theme.

Dave, later in my life I became interested in family history and discovered much about the family of my surname whom I had very little contact with growing up. This grandfather served in the Union Army in Oregon during the Civil War and taught school afterward on the Warm Springs Indian Reservation for two years. This spot is on that reservation and is now where I have first stepped on it's soil. It is very scenic here and the gorge, which this bridge crosses over, is a sheer drop for several hundred feet. I have just come from visiting with my son on the Columbia river on the other side of Mount Hood and to reach this spot I drove up the east slope (right hand side) of Mt Hood. This stretch of road around the mountain in absolutely beautiful. Mountains are spiritual places to me and as I stood in this place, I reflected on the many journeys that have brought me here; mine, my son's and my many grandfather's. This is the sixth place my families have had historical contact with Native Americans that I'm aware of and each time I come to one of these places for the first time the hair on the back of my neck raises and I am in awe.....

                                "Emergency!"

Your bike with a piece of emergency equipment. The more interesting the background the better. Fire Trucks/Engines, police cars, forest service dozers on fire duty, ambulance. Take your pick. Or find an interesting piece of emergency equipment that isnt your "typical" piece f of equipment.

This is just an example.not an entry.
