Life is a balancing act, enjoy every day, "later" will come sooner than you think. Denying yourself joy now betting you will have health and money to enjoy life later is a bad bet.

THe surprize came a few minutes later, just beyound what road see here.
I was surprized at HOW steep that was.
26% doesnt seem like a big number, but it is when talking about grade of a road.

SOuthern California, north of San Diego, by Oceanside (Camp Pendelton area).

Attending the recent BC rally, out with a group for the morning, after lunch I went off on my own near French Lick, looking for nothing in particular but maybe something other than asphalt to ride on, some scenery I hadn’t yet discovered. Wow, did I find something unexpected; an extremely large wooden Bigfoot in a remote camping area. I’d almost forgotten about it until looking for a photo to post for this theme. I decided to do a little research. You can read all about “Otis” here.

BC? Why didn't I hear about it?

Some day, I’ll make it to your BC, Trevor. I may have to wait a few years til I retire to do it, but I want to ride across the northern states, then back across lower Canada, stopping to visit forum members along the way.

That would be great! I would even meet you and bring you to the island....and a safety meeting of course.

Don’t wait too long to retire, some of us getting kinda old.

Vince, if you're still around, Vernonia is on my route. Would love a tour of your sculpture garden.

Any time…the garden changes from time to time. Might hold one last rally before I quit big bikes.

I didn't expect that when I removed the Windjammer from my '83 850G and started trying to find replacement headlight and turn signals, I would find those exact parts, from this exact year and model that were taken off at the dealership and lost in someone's attic for 40 years. All of these parts were still wrapped in a newspaper from 1983.
