DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Pic of the week game

Hard this week, all good, finally got it down to 3, Gustovh, Rich, or Baatfam... When coming out of town, towards home, when I pass the Grandstaff farm, I know I'm almost home. Voting Rich82GS750TZ farm picture just cause it relates nicely to me and my area.

Trev pic looks like could be close to home, only cuz looks like a ferry and I know he lives on an island.
Scott Marvin looks like could be close to home, only cuz I know he lives in Murray KY.

For most generally intersting photo.... Jedz.....baatfam,,,,,

I'll vote for Mr Bob Baatfam. I like the vintage sign and general pose of bike with view down the road.

.

Saturday tally time.

Jedz123 - 5
Baatfam - 2 (not including the late vote)
marvinsc - 2
Rich82GS750Z - 1

Will someone please second the motion?

This week's topic.
Your Local National Forest Road

Idk, from a certain POV, if it’s in the PNW, I’d call it local to Trevor. I myself, did call Trevor out when he posted in a similar “local” theme with a pic that was somewhere in the US Southwest. I think that was a bit of a stretch. Let the voters decide. Anyway, that’s my $.02

heres my pic.

Just stirring the pot guys, here's my entry.

To drive the Barlow Road’s path, take Highway 197 south from The Dalles to Tygh Valley. From Tygh Valley, the route joins Highway 216 to travel west through Wamic toward Mount Hood. Continue on Highway 26 northwest toward Government Camp, around Mount Hood, and on into the Portland Metropolitan area via Oregon City.

Just a side note, I grew up in Wamic.

National Forest ....... (not National Park)..... that means not even any hand water pumps.

Not such a great photo photographically. But a memorable and somewhat significant event for Justin and for me.

As I recall, Justin, about 30 then, and had been going on annaul Memorial Day weekend camping trip with highschool buddys since highschool, every year since highschool, there in this Manistee National Forest. But this year all his buddys cancled out because of other family events or eminent birth of kids. He was annoyed.
But somehow, him and I arranged a ride together, and we rode up to there, and rode around the area, and hung out at the area they usally camped for a while,

and we had a good talk.

Well, next year, about the same holiday weekend, his first child was born. And three years later his next was born.

ANd now, in more recent years, Justin and some of his highschool friends, and some other friends, and Jay RedmanSIL have an annaul weekend campout there with thier kids.
They do sometime invite me to ride up and visit, but, ah,,,, those sandy two-tracks. I recall how I about lost it multiple times on the pictured occassion.

>>Later note: Maybe this is Manistee State Forest.
