Do see some great things but 99% of the time it has happened and gone before you can think about the camera. The Eagle harassing the Kite was pure luck as well. A fraction of a second before or after and the shot wouldn't be there.Comment

When consulting the magic 8 ball for advice, one must first ask it "will your answers be accurate?"

Beautiful shot Sandy. I got a bit of a laugh as I looked at it. I scrolled up on it with my tablet and only saw the river and background and thought "nice". Then I clicked on it and saw the full image with the foreground and reflection and thought "aaah". The foreground really completes the shot.sigpic

The caliber of images posted in this thread has continued to get better and better. It's noticeable. Clearly recognizable 'styles' with aesthetic preferences for specific colours, subject matter and composition, give lots of interesting variety. Good stuff and a go-to thread for me.
DB- curious, the horizontal red stripe and dotted line in the last walls image work in the overall image. What are they in the real world and how did they get there?1979 GS1000

Thanks Dave. That was a long exposure shot and a car passed by while the picture was being taken. The red is obviously taillights, but I'm not sure about the dots.
Usually when a car passes like that there will be a bright white stripe from the headlights, but I'm guessing that since the camera was aimed somewhat in the direction that the car was going they didn't show up. I think that bright branch on the low right was from the headlights.
The car was purely happenstance.
Edit / add. Rich gets a dollar

That makes sense. The car must have been travelling in a straight line across the image as the red line remains constant. It bends slightly where it crosses the wall corner. Another dollar for the reason for that...1979 GS1000

Another from last night. I love when I can catch a blue sky at night. Adapted lens.
