Other then the fairing, I like it. Good luck with it. I hope to see progress pics....sigpic
When consulting the magic 8 ball for advice, one must first ask it "will your answers be accurate?"

Great find!
I think the GS mentality should apply.
If it is in nice enough shape, restore it.
If it is in rough shape, turn it into a cool cafe.
But of course, it is your bike and your rules.2@ \'78 GS1000Comment

I think your best bet is to sell it. To me.Comment

I remember that in like '77, you could still buy those for $900 bucks in So Cal new. They were like light maroon and ivory colored. Not very fast, and not very good handling, but they were solid and reliable and inexpensive. A gold '69 was the first truly full sized motorcycle I ever rode, at 14 years of age. I'll never forget it. One of my older brother's friends handed me the keys. Had to go pick up a buddy and we rode all over that night. I had to have a witness for school the next day!!
Have fun with it. The style was reminiscent of the Atlas, I always thought. So is the name, for that matter.

Nice one! I'm a fan of the T500's... not sure why but I do like them. Next on my hit list after I get my Kat, although not sure if I'll ever get as far as the Titan at this stage...
I'd start with getting rid of that fairing, cleaning her up, and seeing how she goes... if all is good I'd just leave it as is and ride

Rode one all over Seattle and surrounding areas back when they were fairly new. Should have kept it, except it wasn't mine anyway. Brother's bike, but he didn't ride it much, so I did.Comment

Very cool bike. I would do to that what I was hoping Joe was going to do with his 250. Expansion chambers, lower bars, better suspension/tires, and stock everything else.

I would have some twin disc front end off of a GS on that thing in a second.
