Lol....well, to be fair, it wasn't just a valve check. Bernie, the guy who is the mechanic is an old pro from the UK. He raced GS 1100's back in the day. Even raced with Graham Crosby. Worked for Crooks I believe it is?? He also was the mechanic for Ewen and Charlie on their second video tour.
Before coming to Canada Bernie worked for head office BMW in Europe traveling to all the BMW shops to set up the mechanical service shops.
On another note...he became a Canadian citizen on Canada Day July 1st!
He loves my old GS bikes because he raced them and I have let him take them out for rides. He is a really good solid guy! And I'm happy to have him work on my bike.

How do you come to the conclusion of $200?

nice price on the plugs btw you may want to price em and buy in bulk being that BMW rip off folks think they are made of gold.
Were OEM plugs in this bike iridium? what a silly bastard waste of money.

You didn't answer my question jr. How do you come to the conclusion of $200? And how do you know what plugs they used?

I countd my toes and then divided that by the number of chicken bones on my plate.
Then got a headache and said 200 sounds right.

You have bought into a celebrity euro trash image and good for you to be able to afford such silly luxuries!

The funny part is that spark plugs on modern engines last damn near forever. I bet the old ones looked and worked as new.

lol...you do make me laugh JR. no image buying here. Just riding way to many Kms a year to do it on 30 year old bikes. Love my suzukis and will never sell them. Never thought I would own a BMW as I never cared for them I simply liked this bike because even though it looked futuristic it looked classic to me for some reason. Maybe because you could see the inline 4 engine. Anyway I'm far from a wealthy BMW owner. I work a part time job on top of my full time job to be able to afford my motorcycle addiction. And it's worth it IMO.
                            Cheers JR

Then do like me. Maintain it yourself, just like a Suzuki. Check the valves, bleed the brakes, change the oil. Brake pads and tires and things are a piece of cake. You can buy a little gizmo to read the codes the computer throws. Fork maintenance, changing the coolant, it's all straightforward.

You can pay someone to service your wife, but is it really a good idea? Bikes are the same.
