Nice Chuck, but even so it would look better after wet sanding and buffing. Not as easy as it sounds.

Got to dig in the bin of old wire harness junk and find one of those double female ground connectors and transplant that today where the coil ground join up. Then get the exhaust on, and recheck every engine mount bolt for torque. Its not done yet but thought some pics were in order. still gotta do stuff like set the valves, put carbs on, get a few more parts ordered etc etc.

Those are indeed the ones that were on it when i bought it. I had to cut some places out on the swing arm side and weld in some patches though. welded patches in and ground smooth with angle grinder and then finish sanded them with a hand held sander and 80 grit metal compatible paper. Then painted over them with the VHT Universal Aluminum header paint. Cant see any repairs from the side at all.MY BIKES..1977 GS 750 B, 1978 GS 1000 C (X2)

I should note that the side covers are the blue ones Doug sent me a while back. Had to do a little bondo repair on the right side top corner but its like it never was snapped off now. Unless you look at the back you'd never know it. This entire top radius was gone. here it is after the repair and the base coat applied.
