    Nice Chuck, but even so it would look better after wet sanding and buffing. Not as easy as it sounds.

      Not buffing it will give it more of a factory look. Turned out very nice, Chuck. Your painting skills have come a long way. You should be very proud of the results.

          Engine was reinstalled into the frame tonight and the chassis rolled up on the lift. maybe by the end of the weekend she will be all put back together and ready for a restart after 25 years setting idle.

            Got to dig in the bin of old wire harness junk and find one of those double female ground connectors and transplant that today where the coil ground join up. Then get the exhaust on, and recheck every engine mount bolt for torque. Add the carbs and some fuel and see if we get some old dinosaurs to burn in the cylinders.

              Its not done yet but thought some pics were in order. still gotta do stuff like set the valves, put carbs on, get a few more parts ordered etc etc.

                          Not bent....just set low as I tightened the bolts just to move it. Like I said, Its not done yet.

                              Those are indeed the ones that were on it when i bought it. I had to cut some places out on the swing arm side and weld in some patches though. welded patches in and ground smooth with angle grinder and then finish sanded them with a hand held sander and 80 grit metal compatible paper. Then painted over them with the VHT Universal Aluminum header paint. Cant see any repairs from the side at all.

                                I should note that the side covers are the blue ones Doug sent me a while back. Had to do a little bondo repair on the right side top corner but its like it never was snapped off now. Unless you look at the back you'd never know it. This entire top radius was gone. here it is after the repair and the base coat applied.
