Glen, I totally agree. Diamondback and Mongoose are super important to some of my best memories, and it is for that reason that I chose Diamondback once I found out what nice high end bikes they build (and at very good price points)."Thought he, it is a wicked world in all meridians; I'll die a pagan."

What's your budget and intended usage? Want a visor or something sleek for road riding?
For general purpose something a Bell Falcon would be good. Lots of ventilation and Bell makes good sturdy helmets.Last edited by Nessism; 06-06-2019, 08:21 PM.Ed

For mountain biking I picked up one of these last year and love it. Fits good, lots of ventilation, great visor that doesn't get in your way, reasonably light and with an adjustable back strap it doesn't move around when the going gets a bit rough. US pricing should be just north $100.00. I think it's pretty good value and performance for a relatively inexpensive helmet.

Remember the "Apple Crate" and "Orange Crate"?
Front and rear suspension, five speed 'tranny'? I think we called them "sting rays."1982 GS1100E V&H "SS" exhaust, APE pods, 1150 oil cooler, 140 speedo, 99.3 rear wheel HP, black engine, '83 red

Anybody tried Tannus tires? Solid rubber that come in 3 hardness types and a selection of colors.Comment

I'd shy away from solid tires on anything more technical than a Big Wheel."Thought he, it is a wicked world in all meridians; I'll die a pagan."

Opinions:
1) recumbent bikes are stupid looking. and stupid expensive.
2) recumbent trikes look right, but I don't care for how they ride. and they are stupid expensive.

I've thought about a recumbent trike for a long trip."Thought he, it is a wicked world in all meridians; I'll die a pagan."

Good discussion on that:
Recumbent - recumbent trike - road safety/visibility - I just bought a used recumbent trike. I bought one because of a back problem. I really love my trike! It's a tadpole, so it's lower to the ground even than the deltas. But being so low to the ground below eye-level is a bit scary, especially when commuting to work"Thought he, it is a wicked world in all meridians; I'll die a pagan."
