Fixed it for you
I was looking at mid 80'r xr600's earlier. Thinking about getting a collector plateable dual purpose.
I have always liked the xt's though..Last edited by Guest; 11-05-2012, 09:11 PM. -
Being selective is a valuable skill.
Corrosion, I don't want it.
Buggered up wiring I don't want it.
Lady's model, like wise.
Priced anywhere near what it's worth, pass.
Missing parts, cut frame, only if it's free.
Yet still the workshop is almost full.Comment

3-weeks ago I found a Kijiji add for a 1986 Porsche 944 with 120,000kms for $1550. It took everything I had in me to not go look at it.
Guy said it just needed brakes (which is bull at that price), but it was the principal......ugh.
I even told my wife about it, just to rule out the possibility that I would sneak off after work one night. The add was down within 48-hours.
Shame I wasn't in the market.Comment

if it makes u feel any better, thats the more undesireable porsche. Still cool though. Its got a cheaper vw type engine if im not mistaken. being air cooled at 120000 mi its gotta need an overhaul. the price isnt that bad if the chassis is good though.Comment

The 944's did not have air cooled engines.
There were several other manufacturers who attempted to clone the looks of them.Comment

944 was a decent car. As I recall the 924 wasn't nearly as nice .Ed

Firstly, the engine was not air-cooled.
Secondly, the 944 USED TO BE an undesirable Porsche. They're getting more rare with every passing year.
Thirdly, it was 120,000 KMS, not miles
Just breakin' her in.
Fourthly, I want one. (that's all that really matters)Comment

Ever driven a 944? They're a blast, even the NA versions. Hard to go wrong with a good engine up front, RWD, balanced chassis and a solid tranny.Comment
