    1982 GS1100GK Tach

This is a cable drivin tach Do they make I block off plate for removing the tach and running without it?

You can remove the cable (leaving the fitting in place on the cylinder head) and it shouldn't leak oil -- there's an oil seal in the fitting.

If you want to do away with the fitting, there are a few later models with electronic tachs that used a plug here.

For example, if you look at the 1985 GS450 fiches, the parts you'd need are:
    CAP, TACHOMETER GEAR SLEEVE 26442-45000
    SEAL BAND 26451-45000

Less than $15 total from Partshark.com
    1983 GS850G, Cosmos Blue.
    2005 KLR685, Aztec Pink - Turd II.3, the ReReReTurdening
2015 Yamaha FJ-09, Magma Red Power Corrupts...

Please provide details. The GSR Hive Mind is nearly omniscient, but not yet clairvoyant.
