    Suggestions on valve stem seals

    I'm rebuilding a spare head for my GS850 and replacing the valve stem seals in the process.

    Any suggestions as to any particular valve stem seals would be preferred? I've seen Viton seals on ebay and OEM. Just wondering if there is any specifics I should be looking out for.

    1980 GS1000GT (Daily rider with a 1983 1100G engine)
    1998 Honda ST1100 (Daily long distance rider)
    1982 GS850GLZ (Daily rider when the weather is crap)

    Darn, with so many daily riders it's hard to decide which one to jump on next.

    OEM is probably the smarter way to go in my opinion

        I've used stock, K&L and the Vitons on eBay They all worked for me. Oil them first before putting the valve through.
        1983 GS 1100E w/ 1230 kit, .340 lift Web Cams, Ape heavy duty valve springs, 83 1100 head with 1.5mm oversized SS intake valves, 1150 crank, Vance and Hines 1150 SuperHub, Star Racing high volume oil pump gears, 36mm carebs Dynojet stage 3 jet kit, Posplayr's SSPB, Progressive rear shocks and fork springs, Dyna 2000, Dynatek green coils and Vance & Hines 4-1 exhaust.
        1985 GS1150ES stock with 85 Red E bodywork.

                Ahhhhh???? Not talking about tire valves stems. Talking about intake/exhaust valve stems.

                          Compared to you Tom no where near as many but I still think stock is better.

                            Any comments on using these:



                            I know they're not stock, but if they're going to work out, then I'd rather spend the money on other items that MUST be OEM. They look exactly like the ones I just removed.

                              They look stock to me. I got green neoprene seals from ebay for about 30 delivered. These are supposed to last a million years or so.

                              Those you can get from the dealer for about 16 a set.
