Dude....those pipes and shocks are sweet! I am very jealous!

While you have the oil pan off you should shim the oil relief valve.

I'll have a look at your recommendation. I put the oil pan cover back on w/o the gasket for transport purposes but I can remove it.

As I stated in the other thread where you posted this, you need at least those 117.5 main jets and probably 120's. Do not increase the size of your pilot jets and do adjust your fuel screws as needed.

Will do GSX1000E, it was recommended to go 3 up from the 112.5s I have so going to 117.5 is quite a step.

I won't mess with the Pilot Jets but at least now I have spares. Seems I'm acquiring lots of spares these days; very happy with that!

Gasket arrived from partsoutlaw today. I have everything but the 115 Main Jets from Z1 to go along with the 117.5s--need to figure out which ones I'm gonna use that will be good for New Mexico as well as Delaware...and I'm eventually gonna end up in Panama City in June.

EDIT: Just bought 2 gallons of Shell Rotella T 15-W40 at Walmart for $12.97ea. I have 2 HIFLOFILTRO HF133 oil filters; better start ordering another batch of them.

The 115 Main Jets arrived today!!!

I have everything for this Saturday's Install. Got some more engine cleaning to do tonite...basically removing all the grit/oil from the front fins.

Oil pan is on-place for transport and then covering the exhaust ports before I load the bike on Thursday.

You're leaning me towards the 117.5s. I have them...I might as well use them, huh? I think going to 120s would really suck up alot of gas.

Let's see how much my fuel economy suffers going from 112.5 to 117.5.

Yeah, I was leaning towards the 117.5s. If I need to swap out to 115s, at least I'll know how to do it with your training.

Getting things ready here as well, moved my tools to the shop and I got the oil drain plug. We be ready to fly!

Saturday Maintenance

First, let me start by saying, "Bill, you are a great friend!"

Got the 4-1 pipes installed and Bill R2'd the shocks while I went looking for the spring that goes on the oil filter. The steel insert worked out great! A new oil pan gasket and there are no leaks to report.

The challenge of the day were the Carbs & Airbox clamps! Pics are forthcoming.
