    My grandson got a beater 740il and the euro fluids are liquid gold. The pentosin power steering fluid is $25 a liter and doubles as the self leveling sys (SLS) fluid. I think one of the struts leak so Im looking for an alternative (cheaper) fluid.

      Clutch

      Here's a twist.

      I've been avoiding synthetic oil like the plague for my motorcycles because I heard it was bad for wet clutches. Makes it harder for them to grab and wears them out. Just what I was told not based on any evidence.

      Then I heard that Mobile is the best Dino oil because they are the refinery for everyone and they take the best for their product first.

      Basically have been paying top price for Dino oil and haven't cared because I like to baby my motorcycles.

      Now that I'm looking at going to 1230cc's on the GS I'm concerned. Never had to worry about cooking my oil before but I'll still have a wet clutch.

      Doubt converting to a dry clutch is the solution. Should I just start paying an even higher premium for motorcycle specific synthetic?

        You might want to go to the Bob Is The Oil Guy forum and get yourself informed. Too much "I heard" silliness. Get some facts and make an informed decision. Or just skip all that and run Rotella. Dino or Synthetic (if you want to extend your drain interval and/or you run in traffic where the engine can run really hot).

              Synthetic all the way here as well. Been running with my wet clutch for years, no problems. Lots of flavors out there. Mine is purple.

              2015 CAN AM RTS


              Stuff I've done to my bike 1100E front end with new Sonic springs, 1100E swing arm conversion with new Progressive shocks installed, 530 sprockets/chain conversion, new SS brake lines, new brake pads. New SS fasteners through out. Rebuilt carbs, new EBC clutch springs and horn installed. New paint. Motor runs strong.
