Gs850 leaking oil from a hose

So i was riding my 82 gs850gl and noticed the smell of oil and noticed alot of oil leaking ontop of the crank case. I found this sort of vacuum line ontop of my crankcase, i dont know where this line is supposed to connect, anybody know where this line goes?

    Picture here

    Thanks

It's a vent. It hangs down behind the engine.

Route to the side of the rear wheel, just in case.

It is THE vent for your secondary drive unit. Check the oil level in that unit.
The hose is supposed to go into the starter motor housing and exit out the mystery hole under the starter if it is over-filled.

The oil is most likely coming from your cam chain tensioner.

Here are the rebuild instructions -- less than $10 in seals and you'll be leak-free.

That little hose is supposed to route under the starter and out the mystery hole under the starter (the mystery hole is just a drain so the starter cavity doesn't fill up with water in the rain). It's just a vent, so no oil should be coming out unless something else is bad wrong.

I wouldn't bother removing the starter to properly route the vent hose, unless you have it out for some other reason. Just route it off to the side.
