cush drive bushings
Has anyone successfully removed the bushings (cush drive?) from the rear wheel without destroying them? Were you able to re-use them? I'm thinking of powdercoating my wheels, but I doubt the rubber will hold up to the 400 degree temps.https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B9zH8w8Civs8ejBJWjdvYi1LNTg&resourcekey=0-hlJp0Yc4K_VN9g7Jyy4KQg&authuser=fussbucket_1%40msn.com&usp=drive_fs

Those things degenerate over time. If you removed twenty or thirty year-old rubber dampers, replace them with new. I just did this for my 1150. Cost me all of $50."Thought he, it is a wicked world in all meridians; I'll die a pagan."

Not sure what you mean by nipple side. Mines a shafty if there's a difference. They're pressed into a blind hole, so I guess I'd have to use some sort of puller.https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B9zH8w8Civs8ejBJWjdvYi1LNTg&resourcekey=0-hlJp0Yc4K_VN9g7Jyy4KQg&authuser=fussbucket_1%40msn.com&usp=drive_fs

Just lever them out... lift the edge & spray some silicon around there first. Yes they can be re-used but new will feel better....1980 GS1000G - Sold
