cush drive bushings
Has anyone successfully removed the bushings (cush drive?) from the rear wheel without destroying them? Were you able to re-use them? I'm thinking of powdercoating my wheels, but I doubt the rubber will hold up to the 400 degree temps.https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B9zH8w8Civs8ejBJWjdvYi1LNTg&resourcekey=0-hlJp0Yc4K_VN9g7Jyy4KQg&authuser=fussbucket_1%40msn.com&usp=drive_fs

Not sure what you mean by nipple side. Mines a shafty if there's a difference. They're pressed into a blind hole, so I guess I'd have to use some sort of puller.Originally posted by JEEPRUSTY View PostI used a drift to force out the nipple side

Yep they get hard as a rock after 20 or so years. So you end up with no more cush in your driveOriginally posted by GS1150Pilot View PostThose things degenerate over time. If you removed twenty or thirty year-old rubber dampers, replace them with new. I just did this for my 1150. Cost me all of $50.My stable
