    GS1100G Differential

    I have a GS1100 G with a buggered final drive, my question is what other final drive are interchangeable with the 1100 ?? Oh it's a 83 model.

    So you didn't read the other thread? Redman explained quite clearly that your bike doesn't have a "differential".

    As Redman also explained, any 850/1000/1100 final drive will fit.

    Starting in '83 in the US market Suzuki changed the gear ratio for lower rpm's on the freeway with the 1100 models. Assuming the Australian market is similar, that means you need a '83 or later final drive otherwise your rpm's will be slightly higher for any given cruise speed.

      I did read Redman's post and was asked to re enter my post here . This is my first GS 1100 and love it and would also like do whats best for the old girl

        Your not moving the revs that much your looking at about 500-1000rpm in top gear using the GS850 one and it will give you abit more acceleration.

          I have one off an 80 GS1000G
          1983 GS 1100E w/ 1230 kit, .340 lift Web Cams, Ape heavy duty valve springs, 83 1100 head with 1.5mm oversized SS intake valves, 1150 crank, Vance and Hines 1150 SuperHub, Star Racing high volume oil pump gears, 36mm carebs Dynojet stage 3 jet kit, Posplayr's SSPB, Progressive rear shocks and fork springs, Dyna 2000, Dynatek green coils and Vance & Hines 4-1 exhaust.
          1985 GS1150ES stock with 85 Red E bodywork.
