    Excessive oil around shim

    Hello!

I was in the process of checking my valve shim clearances when I notice there was an excessive amount of oil, a small pool, in one of the valves.

    What does this mean?

That's just proving that oil always rolls down hill, and if it can't roll down hill it doesn't roll at all.

I would rather trust my bike to a technician that reads the service manual than some backyardigan that THINKS HE KNOWS how to fix things.

Pools of oil around the buckets in an 8V Suzuki engine are normal, necessary, and should make you feel all warm and fuzzy and adequately lubricated.

You should see how much oil splashes around in the 1980 series Honda inline fours.
