does anything else fit on 1982 gs650 shaft drive rear wheel suzukimatic?

hate the setup on 1982 gs650 with 19 in front and 16 in rear and ugly mag wheels does any wire adapt to shaft? the suzukimatic wire look like they will work

Just how much adapting do you want to do?

The 450GA wheels are considerably smaller and have drum brake on the rear.

But please don't stop your search. Many have tried, some are still trying, but nobody has found a wire wheel that fits. When you find one, please report back, there are still several that are interested.

This has been a common question for decades, but no one so far has had enough burning hatred for cast wheels to pursue it very far. With unlimited funds and a machine shop, sure, you could whip up something that works.

The best starting point would likely be a wheel from an Intruder with a disk rear brake. Some models had drums, some had disk brakes. The driven spline is the same part number, but no idea whether or how the rest could be adapted to a GS rear end -- it's not a bolt-on. The rims are 15", but with enough cash you could probably have Buchanan's cut some custom spokes and lace up a rim in whatever diameter you want.

Personally, I don't understand this impulse at all -- you couldn't pay me enough to go back to tubes.
