    Oil pump circlip ?

    Changing gear on oil pump on my 83 1100 e, anybody know what size circlip it takes ?,I screwed up old one

    Since the circlip is metric, not sure how useful the pic is since it is next to a yardstick.

      You can get metric retaining rings from McMaster-Carr. They're specified by the shaft diameter, or you can measure the groove diameter.

      Judging from the photo and the ruler, the OD of the clip is just under a half inch (12.5mm), so the clip is most likely for a 10mm shaft (but check the shaft diameter with an open-end 10mm wrench).

      You can probably have a bag of 100 clips on your doorstep on Monday for around ten bucks ($6.89 + shipping at McMaster-Carr). Or rummage around your local industrial suppliers and real hardware stores to see if anyone has metric external retaining rings.

      You might be able to find one in stock at a decent motorcycle dealer -- these are used on LOTS of Japanese bikes.

      Whatever you do, don't bodge a 3/8" ring on there and call it done...
