I've also looked at the rear wheel and found that it is not the brakes that are giving resistance to the rear wheel, but the final drive or the wheel bearing. As the bearing sounds and feels smooth I am thinking that there is supposed to be some resistance even when the bike is in nutral (I checked if it was in gear as well and it didn't move at all when I selected fist), but I honestly dont know if its supposed to have resistance or not. Any thoughts? Also it's on a center stand so it easy to check.
I've also bought a starter relay and will be putting that on soon, hopefully fixing the starter motor staying engaged (as per the clymer manual's suggestion, it was the relay or the start button). The list of things getting checked, replaced and fixed is getting longer but the list of things wrong with Rasputin is slowly getting shorter. Hopefully one day in 4 months I will have problem free run both to and from work!
