clutch plates for my maybe 78 gs550?

So I ordered EBC ck3333 clutch plates for my 78 gs550, only to find that they dont fit. I gave my local dealer a call to have them look up the correct part thinking that I just made a mistake. They told me that these are the right plates though. So now the only thing I can think is that the engine on my bike is not a 78? anyone have any experience decoding the engine/frame numbers of pre-80s bikes? My uncle gave me this bike years ago and he's since passed away, so there's really no going back through previous owners. any ideas?
my frame is gs550-114922, and the engine is gs550-124643.

the part you bought does not claimn to fit a 78 550.
Can you send them back? Maybe the vendor you bought them from posted them incorrectly. Where did you get them?

He did you a favor. Send them back and get OEM Suzuki clutch plates and springs.

I ordered off of amazon, so they'll probably take them back. Amazon claimed they fit, shame on me for not doing my homework.

Or you could get Suzuki plates and have a clutch that works perfectly forever.

forgive my naivety, but are the OEM parts really that much better? kinda looks like a big price difference
