    Sprocket+chain help

    Hey guys
Looking to get this chain and sprocket kit for my '80 GS550E project bike. Its taken apart and without a chain so I figure I might as well get this to put on.
It says its for a 79, is there any difference between the two that would make me unable to run this? Or should it bolt on?

Not sure if it will or not.
I would contact the vendor and get confirmation so you will have no trouble returning it if it does not fit.
There MIGHT be a difference in the sprockets between the cast and spoke wheels.
I prefer dealing with a place like Z1Enterprises for aftermarket parts like sprockets and chains. You might pay a couple more bucks but they have tons of knowledge on our GS bikes.
Z1 Enterprises specializes in quality Motorcycle parts for Honda, Kawasaki, Suzuki and Yamaha Classic Japanese motorcycles from the 1970's and 1980's.

Agreed. Even the best non o-ring chain is good for a couple hundred miles maybe. That fleaBay crap is Chinese junk that probably won't last 50 feet, and may not even fit your bike.

Call up Z1 Enterprises and they'll set you up with the correct, high quality o-ring chain and sprockets at a bargain price.
